ALBERTO MARTÍN GIRALDO
My painting deals with visual perception. Rather than representing a motif, it is representing human vision. I start the paintings moved by an external stimulus, to find myself before an image that hides something worth unraveling.
I paint very far from the painting to see it at the distance that the viewer will see it. Each spot I put on the canvas I hold it in my mind for a few seconds while I approach the painting, prepare the color and place it on the canvas.
This increased retentive time causes memory to noticeably modify what is perceived, moving it away from objective reality. In this search exercise, the painting must be carried out with the same naturalness that one walks, talks, eats or breathes.
